Made canary grass milk this morning, using a molcajete to grind the overnight-soaked seeds into a paste, adding water, and using a fork to hold back the hulls as I poured the milk into a glass. It tasted good but left me feeling a little light-headed.

Also purchased sodium hydroxide flakes (sosa caustica en escamas) and sunflower oil (marca Cristal aceite de girasol) to try making soap. Total cost about $MXP64 at the Aramburo supermarket on Madero. I plan on using a saponification value of .1358 as recommended by this page, but I'll have to rig something to use as a scale.
