just tried my first experiment with the desalinator idea; hooked up the solar panel to electrodes in oil floating on salt water. nothing happened; had hoped to see chlorine bubbling from the positive electrode and sodium dropping into the oil, the ions traveling up through the oil to the negative electrode. nothing happened, even after using my drill to spin up the voltage to about 100 using Lenz's law as I mentioned the other day.
