I was tcpdumping and saw a whole bunch of:
02:41:23.055767 172.16.0.1 > 192.168.1.102: icmp: 134.134.136.4 unreachable - need to frag (mtu 1492) (DF) 02:41:23.056303 172.16.0.1 > 192.168.1.102: icmp: 134.134.136.4 unreachable - need to frag (mtu 1492) (DF) 02:41:23.836252 172.16.0.1 > 192.168.1.102: icmp: 68.37.182.132 unreachable - need to frag (mtu 1492) (DF) 02:41:23.836790 172.16.0.1 > 192.168.1.102: icmp: 68.37.182.132 unreachable - need to frag (mtu 1492) (DF) 02:41:24.173321 172.16.0.1 > 192.168.1.102: icmp: 24.64.223.203 unreachable - need to frag (mtu 1492) (DF) 02:41:24.173858 172.16.0.1 > 192.168.1.102: icmp: 24.64.223.203 unreachable - need to frag (mtu 1492) (DF) 02:41:25.890228 172.16.0.1 > 192.168.1.102: icmp: 65.28.47.200 unreachable - need to frag (mtu 1492) (DF)
So I set my MTU to 1492. That ought to help your browsers out a little. Amazing the things you can learn when you're getting hit with the slashdot effect.
